Greetings!
Last week we discussed how our egos can
overwhelm us with doubt when we decide to make a shift into a new way of
BEING. I closed last week’s newsletter telling you that in future issues
of the newsletter I would be sharing with you helpful tools that can be of
assistance when dealing with what I like to call ego’s con job. This week
I would like to discuss with you how the ego goes about trying to get us
back into our old ways of thinking. I like to call it Mind Chatter.
Mind Chatter is:
-
Self-talk
-
That little voice in the back of your
head that’s telling us why we couldn’t, shouldn’t or won’t do what we
have chosen to do.
-
Ego second guessing our out-of-the-box
decisions.
-
Our ego trying to talk us back into the
old box.
In addition to fear, worry and
self-doubt, our ego will be using mind chatter either to keep us in the
old box or to talk us back into it. Self-talk is not an occasional thing.
It goes on constantly whether we are aware of it or not.
Once we have begun paying attention to
the mind chatter, we will realize why we are still stuck in the
status-quo. Those thoughts are what keeps us boxed in. To live our lives
in a more desirable reality requires a different way of thinking. Our ego
will be using mind chatter to second guess any decision to change the way
we think.
Realize it or not, our ultimate purpose
in life is to take control of our thinking.
Once we start listening to our thoughts,
we will notice a definite pattern to them. Those thoughts set the pattern
for our experiences. As individualizations of God, we become what we think
about; the pattern of our thoughts is who we are being and/or in the
process of becoming.
A change of circumstances requires,
first, a new BEING commitment – a new way of being in the reality of far
better circumstances. That self-concept change is in fact, a change in the
pattern of our thinking.
Our first step out of the old way of
being is a new BEING choice, and our second step is to begin listening to
what our ego thinks about that change. At this stage in our evolution, we
will want to remember that it is our spirit that chooses out of the box,
and it is our ego that will try and get us back into the old reality.
The Tool
The Power Pause is the perfect tool for
changing the pattern of our thoughts. With the Power Pause, we will easily
step out of our ego’s mind-chatter trap, we will visualize a far better
reality, and then we will choose to BE the one in that new reality.
Once we have mastered the Power Pause
habit, we will change our moods – almost instantly – out of self-doubt and
into self-confidence. We will notice that our newly found self-confidence
is manifesting almost immediate results.
By gaining understanding and uncovering
how ego attempts to put us back into our old box we are able to succeed in
making positive changes in our lives. Next week I will be discussing the
invaluable tool/technique of the Power Pause.
Change is only a thought away!
Have a wonderful weekend!
