Hi %$firstname$%,
How do you break a bad thinking habit?
Simple! Replace it with a new habit -- create a new pattern
to your thinking. Changing your thinking habits will change who you are. That
simple change of mind is the transformation you seek.
But before you seriously attempt the transformation
process, you must convince yourself that the process will work for you. To
increase your faith in the process, I suggest that you copy the following
affirmation on to a 3" X 5" card, carry this card with you and read it aloud
several times a day. Continue reading it until you are certain beyond a shadow
of a doubt that changing your thinking will change your reality -- read it
aloud until you can get excited about having found the simple solution for
changing your lifestyle.
Here is the affirmation:
I know that my
persistent thoughts eventually become reality for me. Therefore, I will
concentrate my attention for thirty minutes daily, on thinking of myself
as the person I intend to become.
Memorizing these words should give you a renewed sense of
power and strengthen your belief in the transformation process. Speaking the
words aloud will increase your determination to take charge of your life and
to plan your future. Now would be a good time for you to stop reading and
create your own card.
In Psycho-cybernetics, Maxwell Maltz tell us that it takes
about 21 days to change a habit. The transformation process is quite simple.
By concentrating your thoughts for thirty minutes daily on thinking of
yourself as the person you intend to become, you become that person in about
21 days.
If your intention is clear and your desire remains powerful
enough to overcome your ego's determined resistance to change, your
transformation is guaranteed.
Daydreaming about what we want is often a waste of time,
because wanting it won't get it for you. The only way you can ever have what
you want from life is to choose to BE the one who will have it.
But once you've chosen to BE the one in your dream, you're
on dangerous ground, because your ego will still be running on the old track.
It will be busy defending who you were being before. Until the new BEING
choice is accepted by your ego as your reality, it will be trying to get you
back into your old box.
Join us next week when we will look at what
"transformation" looks like.
