Hi %$firstname$%,

The Power of Visualization

In Chapter 7 you learned that using the visualization process to create a burning desire would motivate your making a new BEING choice and having your dream reality come true. Here's another example of how well that works.

I read this story in the Reader's Digest about a man who spent considerable time in a POW camp. Every day, to keep his mind off the discomfort of being cramped up in a small cell, he visualized himself playing golf on his favorite golf course. He remembered, in detail, every fairway, every sand trap and each putting green on that golf course in his hometown.

Every day, while in that cramped cell, he played all 18 holes of that golf course, one hole after the other. For each hole, he chose the appropriate golf club and teed off. After each tee shot, he imagined himself walking to his ball and choosing his next club, depending on the length of the hole and how well he'd imagined playing his tee shot. With each hole, he chipped onto the green and putted. He kept score, and as you might have guessed, scored a little better than average for his visualized round of golf.

If I remember the story correctly, he was in that prison for over three years. When he cam home, his first priority for recreation was to play a round of golf on that same golf course he had played in his mind for all those years in prison. For his first real game of golf in years, he beat his best-ever-real score by two strokes. Such is the power of visualization.

In visualization, you are BEING the solution to your problem.

Winning Through Visualization

Another visualization example: The daughter of a friend is a key player on a champion soccer team. Their coach is a management consultant, much wiser at consulting than I was. As a regular training exercise, this coach has each player on the team visualize BEING a star player on his or her winning team.

She teaches them how to visualize BEING winner--practicing winning moves in their mind, before they are called on to DO the great plays that win so many games for them. Net result: their team has been division champion five years in a row!

Being a winner in life is first a BEING choice and then your reality.

Doing is just 'being' in action

Once you are seriously considering the possibility of becoming rich, one of your first questions will be, "how do I do that?". In other words, "What do I do; what action step must I take to become rich?". I want to remind you again that "rich" in this context means rich in consciousness. "Rich" means having whatever you think you need to have your life be whole and complete. I use money as an example, but you can substitute whatever form of riches fills your greatest need.

Knowing what to DO is not the first step in the becoming rich process. Choosing to BE rich is the first step. That's because rich is about who you are BEING, not about what you do or have.

I'm not trying to convince you that the doing is not an important part of the becoming-rich process. On the contrary, without the doing, the BEING rich can never really happen. What I'm saying is that the Doing follows the Being choice in the BE DO HAVE success formula. DOING is the becoming part of BEING--the action part.

As a prosperity coach, I often meet those who say they've chosen, but when it comes to the doing part of being and becoming, they fall short. Most of these 'wannabes' actually believe they've made a new choice about whom they will be when they really haven't. Those who continually talk about what they're going to do, but never do it, are conning themselves about their intentions.

An old-fashioned steam engine needs a full head of steam to climb a steep hill. Blowing your own whistle to impress friends is like blowing off steam. Bragging is sometimes so rewarding that is dissipates the motivation needed for climbing your hill. The time for deserving a pat on the back is AFTER you've climbed your hill and reached your goal. Once you've made your BEING decision, don't just talk about it; get on with the DOING part!

Next week: A dream without an action step is just a dream.
