Welcome to this week's edition of my newsletter. Last
week we discussed understanding how our beliefs guide what we experience in
our lives. This week I would like to continue along the same thought but
this week talk about:
Changing the illusion
If we could flip a switch
in our mind, and suddenly see our condition of lack as a wonderful
opportunity for growth, that condition could no longer be a problem. We
would have changed our reality by merely changing our point of view, and
changing our point of view changes who we are BEING.
Actually, life really IS
that simple! We can change our reality if we will change our attitude about
it. The problem with changing our mind, is that as far as our ego is
concerned, we are our point of view. If we change our point of view, our ego
must die and be reborn into a new level of consciousness.
Our ego will do everything
within its power to prevent us from seeing that our reality is just an
illusion. Ego’s survival depends on its ability to maintain the illusion of
the status quo!
Always ready with the
blinders
Our subconscious mind,
acting as our ego, serves us by allowing us to experience life as our chosen
reality. It maintains that reality (the illusion) by screening out
everything that doesn’t fit what we currently believe. To prevent our
hearing anything that would upset our current belief system, our ego, always
vigilant, stands ready with unconscious thoughts and actions that act as
blinders to prevent our seeing the truth and ear plugs to prevent our
hearing it.
We are all equipped with
our own built-in resistance to change. The good news is that our current
perception of reality is safe and secure, protected by our good friend the
ego. The bad news is that we won’t get the message I’m talking about here,
unless we can read it with an open mind—from outside the box we call our
reality.
To get this message we will
need to override our ego’s resistance to our getting it.
Here are the options
The best part about living
a life that is merely an illusion is that we have the option, at any time,
to change this illusion. To change our reality (create a different
illusion), just change our perspective. Poverty in any form (lack of love,
health, wealth, happiness or spiritual awareness) is an attitude, not the
condition of the lack it appears to be.
To transform the quality of
your life, make the decision, right now, to change your perception (your
concept of reality) about what you seem to lack. I say seem to lack, because
the lack is merely the illusion you choose to maintain.
What you
lack in life, is your perception of reality made to appear real.
So, how do you change that reality? Your first step
could be to totally reject the painfully unsatisfactory reality you now
endure only because it’s safe.
Next week we will take a look at the power of “NO”.
I hope your week ahead turns out exactly the way you
want and I look forward to talking with you next week!
