1. The money quiz
If you won the lottery tomorrow, and your monthly income
increased by ten times within the next 30 days, you would just
naturally assume that: If you answered any one of these questions with a "Yes",
then you probably also believe in the tooth fairy!

The fact is: that about 80% of all those who win the lottery end up
broke within two years or less. That’s because they somehow came
to the conclusion that having lots of money would make them rich.

How did they acquire this misinformed concept about money?
Probably because the only times they've felt rich in life were when
they were happily spending money. This “happy-when-I’m-spending”
feeling led them to believe that “BEING Rich” was just about
spending the money. Nothing could be further from the truth!

The obvious flaw in that brand of reasoning: Once the money
is gone, you're poor again.

For some folks, the experience of being rich one day and poor the
next is an ongoing, paycheck-to-paycheck drama. The false-riches
game gets even more insane when they resort to “feeling rich”
through credit card spending.

If you're guilty of attempting to spend your way to prosperity,
you have a relationship to money that is destined to keep you forever
poor.

If you're fed up with feeling poor, choose the BEING Solution for your
money problems —choose a different way of relating to money. It’s
the only real solution for your negative cash flow problems.

Relationship to Money will make you rich or keep you poor

2. Your Relationship to Money (copied from chapter 20)
BEING poor means you want something from life that you don't have.
That definition for “poor” makes most of us poor! A millionaire
desperate for more wealth is poor; having five axed-out credit
cards makes you poor.

In either case, you will have chosen a relationship to money that
keeps you poor. The purpose Chapter 20 is to show you how to
change your relationship to money. So, think about this and accept
it as your reality:

You do have a relationship with money

If you think you don't have a relationship with money, you may want
to rethink your opinion. If you see money only as an inanimate object—
just the stuff you receive on paydays, earnings that never quite
stretch to the end of the pay period —then you are at the effect of the
real cause of your money problems.

As long as you persist in that point of view, your income
problems can't be solved.

If you never seem to have all the money you think you need to make
your life whole and complete, your money problems are the conse-
quence, not the cause, of your predicament.

And to find your way out of your financial bind, you must be able to
see that the real problem is in WHO you've chosen to BE, as in how
you relate to money.

Your relationship to money is expressed in three ways:

  1. As your prosperity consciousness—or lack of it. A prosperity consciousness can be defined as feeling prosperous when you think about your personal finances.
  2. As your spending strategy An insatiable need for instant gratification will create negative cash flow and the resulting poverty consciousness will keep you in debt and poor. On the other hand, spending less than you make creates a positive cash flow, resulting in the prosperity consciousness that will make you rich.
  3. As your earning strategy Almost no one ever became wealthy off their income from trading hours for dollars. Creating multiple streams of residual income is the true path to wealth.
By reading Chapter 17, of BEING THE SOLUTION, you would have
learned how to use the Power Pause for developing a prosperity
consciousness that would have a surplus of money flowing in your
direction.

The first step toward that prosperous feeling that attracts money, is
to create a positive cash flow, usually by spending less than you make.

If you are to manage your cash flow, you'll need to understand the
laws of money that control your spending habits. You'll learn about
those laws in Chapter 20.

Also in that chapter, you will learn how your current earning strategy
is keeping you poor and you'll find there, some suggestions for
changing your earning strategy.

Once you've acquired a prosperity consciousness, you'll attract money
like a magnet attracts metal filings. Then when you take full charge of
your spending habits and change your earning strategy, you'll  be well
on your way to becoming wealthy.
