Your Barrier To Becoming
Wealthy
The following are some of the BARRIER
questions I have received from newsletter subscribers.
-
How can I forget/forgive a poverty
consciousness in my parents?
-
Something in my programming is
telling me I shouldn't want too much.
-
Deep down something is holding me
back. How do I find my barrier?
-
How do you get past the "I'll never
make it days?"
-
I have a barrier I haven't been able
to identify.
-
I am successful with everything but
finances. Why is that?
-
Why is it so difficult to change
limiting beliefs?
"Why is it so difficult to change
limiting beliefs?" wins first place in the above list of barrier questions.
Often, when we choose a goal in life, we
are stopped dead in our tracks by some hidden barrier and most of us are totally
unaware of the fact that we all have this powerful, built-in resistance to
change.
And because most of us don't have a clue
about that resistance or how to handle it, 80 to 85% of us will fizzle out in
any attempt to have that better life we've always wanted. We've been stopped
from having what we want in life by some hidden barrier to that success.
So,
what's a barrier?
A barrier, according to Webster's
dictionary is:
-
A structure, such as a fence, built
to bar passage.
-
Something immaterial that obstructs
or impedes: Intolerance is a barrier to understanding.
The barrier in your way is not
material. In fact, it's nothing more than a flimsy reason, a silly excuse
your ego is using in an attempt at preventing you from making the change that
would give you that better life. When you take a closer look at that reason, you
will see that it doesn't make sense.
Your barrier to having what you want shows
up as a little voice in the back of your head expressing doubts about your
chances of success. When you pay attention to that mind chatter, what you will
hear is your ego giving you the reasons why you shouldn't, couldn't or wouldn't
make the change that would allow you to have what you want.
In many cases barriers will be hidden
from view because they are seldom able to stand the test of logic.
Most of the reasons used in your ego's defense system just do not make sense.
That's why they are hidden.
One of the ways you can find the hidden
barrier is to choose a goal and have that barrier pop up and hit you in the
face. I suggest you seriously choose to be rich in some area of your life,
health, relationships or wealth and see what pops up.

Chapter 18 - Uncovering Your Act
"To God Or As God" - Pg. 129
One of Ego's On-going Traps Is Your Story,
Your Act
As a small child, you reacted to life in a way, that
decided who you would be from then on, or until you changed your mind. You came
to an erroneous conclusion about life and how you would have to deal with it in
order to survive. Maybe now you're ready to rethink that four-year-olds
conclusion!
Your ego made the decision long ago that to endure and
prevail, you would have to prove that you were good enough, smart enough or
loveable enough. Your act, your on-going need to prove yourself in some way, has
become your reality trap, a self perpetuating pattern for your life.
And because your self-concept and your reality concept
determine what you may have in your life, you are destined to keep on
manifesting the same need-to-prove reality, until you decide to uncover and
discontinue running your act.

Chapter 2 - Our Resistance To Change
from my book
"So, Why Aren't You Rich?" -
Pg. 46
By Not Choosing
None of us wants to be poor, we just haven't been able
to choose to be rich. And by NOT CHOOSING to be rich, we have actually chosen,
by default, to be poor. When we came to the crossroads in life marked Rich or
Poor, we took the well worn path, followed the crowd, and ended up in Poor City.
The first hurdle in moving out of poverty is to realize
that you are poor because you chose not to be rich.
You took a stand against riches, creating the mind set
which would keep you poor. By default, you have chosen a life of poverty.

Chapter 11 - Your Way Past The
Resistance
from my book
"Being The Solution" -
Pg. 126
Looking At Why You Don't Have It
If you are not as rich as you want to be in
some way, it's because you have some sort of barrier to becoming rich.
Your barrier can seem like a solid wall when, in fact, it is nothing
more serious than your point of view about why you don't already have
what you want.
Your most important barrier to becoming rich is
the one that prevents you from choosing that better life, the one that
puts BEING RICH outside your box. Once you've chosen to be rich, the
barriers that confront your BEING change will be less important, because
by then, you would have become sufficiently motivated to overcome those
barriers.
