Resistance vs Allowing
Learning about resistance will allow
you to more easily shift to new being choices.
What is the difference between
"Resistance, "Resistance to the Resistance" and "Allowing Feelings"?
Feelings can be resisted, such as when
we "put on a happy face" or they can be used to help lead us to new being
choices.
In fact,
as long as we resist the feeling, we're actually
inhibiting our abilities to understand and choose freely.
When we resist painful feelings, they persist and gather
strength into what we might call stress, or resistance to the the resistance.
When we allow the feelings, while maintaining an
observer role, the feelings pass through and there is no residual.
In fact, we can reconnect to the joy in what is the NOW, the fear of what might
be is gone.
If we get all "in our head" about our
feelings and discount them to "that's just resistance", a form of resistance to
the resistance, it is our way of trying to overcome mentally what our heart
feels emotionally.
Kahil Gibran said that sadness hollows
out a cup in which we might experience joy later. We enjoy the light more
because we have experienced the darkness. It is the silence between the notes
that makes beautiful music.
A chiropractor once helped me
understand that allowing the pain of a near broken toe, paved the way for
healing more quickly and easily. Instead of choosing to be the one with no pain,
I chose to be the one healed and that's what manifested.
But don't be tricked by your ego into
identifying with your feelings alone. You are not your feelings and you don't
need to BEcome mad or sad. When you allow
yourself to BE human and allow your feelings to come and go, they will come and
go without getting stuck. They won't build a
wall of resistance or a victim story.
So is there anything you are pushing
away or holding at bay that is creating resistance? When fears and so called
impossible situations arise, picture yourself flying or leaping over these
obstacles, achieving creativity in your day to day life
Find a quiet place and practice
allowing. Allow the feelings. Stare down "the worst that could happen" and find
a way to make it okay. In that moment, when it no longer "has a hold on you",
what do you then experience?

Unconditional love
That's the value of mastering
allowing and the value of the further distinction between being real, accepting
and allowing your true feeling and resisting the resistance.

Chapter 19 - You Are Not Your Ego
"To God Or As God" - Pg. 133 & 134
Remind Yourself
The best and most effective way for dealing with ego's
persistent efforts to get you back into the old box: is each time ego resistance
show up, whether in the form of fear, self-doubt, worry or mind chatter, remind
yourself that you are not your ego.
Instead, know that you are an individualization of a
God who experiences life in and through you as you. Ego is your servant, not
your master. Each time the resistance shows up, you'll want to remind yourself
of the truth of your being and put the Real You back in charge of the moment.
When your ego has you running scared or in self-doubt,
that's your signal to remember that you are not your ego. Anytime you're feeling
afraid, worried or in a state of overwhelm, that's your ego's problem, not
yours.
Ego's tricks work only if you fall into the trap of
being your ego, only if you forget to remember that you are not your ego. Remind
yourself that the way out of ego's trap is to be objective. Each time you step
back and take charge of your thoughts, as the observer, the Real You is in
charge.

Chapter 9- The Nature of Man
from my book
"So, Why Aren't You Rich?" -
Pg. 226
The most dangerous and self-defeating false belief is
the one in which we deny responsibility for what's happening in our lives.
The biggest lie, the one we most need to debunk,
is the one we use to convince ourselves
that we are the victims of our circumstances.

Chapter 11 - Your Way Past The
Resistance
from my book
"Being The Solution" -
Pg. 123 & 124
When someone tells me their victim story, I
ask,
Who would you be BEING
if that were no longer the problem?
That confronting question takes the one with a
problem right past that problem to the problem's solution. That question
has transformational powers because the solution to almost any problem
will be found in a simple change of attitude about the problem.
To see the power in this simple question, you
must accept that a change in the way you think and feel about your
problem changes its significance. That change in the problem's
importance does nothing about DOING something to solve the problem; it
changes how you relate to the problem, making it suddenly solvable where
before it seemed not to be.
After the appropriate attitude adjustment,
the perceived problem becomes an
opportunity.
