Putting The Power
Back Into Your Word
Did you know that every
thought you think and every word you speak has awesome power?
Actually, the title "Putting
the Power Back Into Your Word" is somewhat misleading. As an
individualization of a God who experiences life in and through you as
you, you can't really put any power into your word that hasn't already
always been there. That power is just sitting there, waiting for you to
find it and learn how to use it in creating the reality of your dreams.
The problem with having such
great and undiscovered powers is that, we tend to use that power to
shoot ourselves in the foot. Then we ask,
"Why me, God?" With that question,
we've just rendered ourselves powerless to change those circumstances.
You have the power of the
Universe behind your "I AM" statement. So, if you believe you're
powerless, you are.
The physical evidence would
seem to prove that you have no power, when in fact, you've used your
awesome powers in choosing to BE the powerless victim of not-so-happy
circumstances. Notice that, in this case,
your power has worked by seeming not to work.
You live in a box created when
you chose who you would BE. And then, by choosing a point of view and an
attitude about life in that box, you created the rest of the box. But
now you're trapped in a reality built out of nothing more substantial
than attitudes, opinions and points of view.
Your way out of that box is to
change your mind. I want you to see that you have the power to make a
new BEING choice that will take you out of that box. Life really is that
simple!
You don't need an exercise for
putting the power back into your word. All you need is to take back the
power you've given to those circumstances, and then to redirect it
toward creating a new more joyful set of circumstances with a new BEING
choice.
Now you're out of that box, but
staying out of it is a whole other matter. To make that new BEING choice
stick, you'll have to take charge of your thinking and make up your mind
to stay in charge until your ego buys your vision as the new reality.
Every thought you think and
every word you speak is some form of "I Am" statement. Each thought is a
statement of being that either takes you out of that old box or drags
you back into it after you've chosen out.
To change who you're BEING,
you'll need to change the pattern of your thinking. That means paying
strict attention to your every thought and feeling, intent on replacing
the negative thoughts with positive out-of-the-box thoughts.
Taking charge of your thinking
is a little like deciding to exercise a muscle. The more you think
out-of-the-box thoughts the more powerful you'll feel. The stronger you
feel the easier the job will become.

Chapter 3 - The Success Secret
from my book
"So, Why Aren't You Rich?" -
Pg. 79
Every Thought "I Am"
In the beginning . . . your word. The
beginning of everything in your life began with your spoken word. When
you say "I'm poor", you create your own poverty. If you say "I'm dumb",
you establish your own ignorance. By making an "I Am" statement, you
choose who you will be in relationship to someone or something.
When you say something like,
"I don't like dill pickles",
your statement is not really about dill
pickles. It is instead a statement about who you have chosen to be in
relation to dill pickles. The point made by this "dill pickle" example
is that every thought we have, establishes a relationship to someone or
something, and is therefore a power thought.
