Until One Is Committed
To change the content of your life, you must first
change the context. Solving your problem will require an entirely different
frame of mind than that from which the problem was originally created.
Once the problem is solved, you'll be
amazed that the problem was solved by merely changing your attitude, your
opinion or your point of view about the significance of the problem.
Your
problem will have been solved by switching your focus from the problem to the
problem's solution. Changing your mind, changes who you are BEING and solves the
problem. That's why it called BEING THE SOLUTION.
For example, if you were back in school, taking a test
that you didn't think you could pass, you'd probably fail it because your fears
would block your ability to think clearly.
But if a friend told you that the test
was easy and that you'd have no trouble passing it, your attitude would change,
your fears would go away and you would easily and confidently take the test and
pass it.
That attitude change is the
BEING SOLUTION for
your problem!
A BEING shift, a transformation in consciousness,
is truly the key to having the quality of your life change
for the better.
Until One Is Committed
No
matter how much you think you want something, nothing happens until you are
committed. Being committed means being willing to:
DO whatever it takes for as long as it takes.
If you are not that committed, you are probably not
serious about having the lifestyle change you say you want. Those who promote
persistence as a success tool should know that persistence works only for those
who have made a BEING commitment.
Getting past your ego's resistance will require your being
powerfully committed to making it happen. You will have set the wheels in motion
when you make that commitment.
Once committed, you will boldly act in some way to make it
happen. That's when the power of the Universe gets behind your intention. The
following quote is my favorite on the subject of commitment. I think it's worth
repeating.
Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.
--Goethe
The Transformation Process
Transformation truly is the key to having your life change to be the way you
want it. So, how do you go about the process of transforming yourself into BEING
the person you will need to be in order to have that quality of life change?
The answer is simple: you merely change the pattern of your thinking. Your
habitual thought patterns and your beliefs make you who you are. Any thinking
pattern that keeps you poor in any aspect of your life, is merely a bad habit.
We first make our habits
and them our habits make us.
-- Dryden
How Do You Break A Bad Thinking Habit?
Simple! Replace it with a new habit, create a new pattern
to your thinking. Changing your thinking habits will change who you are.
That simple change of mind is the transformation you seek.
Before you seriously attempt the transformation process, you must convince
yourself that the process will work for you.
To increase your faith in the
process, you might want to copy the following affirmation on a 3x5 card; carry
the card with you and read it aloud several times a day. Continue reading it
until you are certain beyond a shadow of a doubt that changing your thinking
will change your reality. Read it aloud until you can get excited about having
found the simple solution for changing your lifestyle.
Your 3x5 Commitment Card
I know that any concept of self that I persistently
hold in my mind, will eventually become my reality.
I will therefore, concentrate my thoughts for thirty
minutes daily,
in thinking of myself as the person I intend to become.
Memorizing these words should give you a renewed sense of
power and strengthen your belief in the transformation process. Speaking the
words aloud will increase your determination to take charge of your life and to
plan your future.
In "Psycho-Cybernetics", Maxwell Maltz tells us that it
takes about 21 days to change a habit. The transformation process is quite simple.
By concentrating your thoughts for thirty minutes daily on thinking of yourself
as the person you intend to become, you become that person in about 21 days. I
suggest doing it for thirty days.
If your intention is clear and your desire remains
powerful enough to overcome your ego's determined resistance to change, your
transformation is guaranteed.
When you are ready to change who you are, set aside three
ten-minute segments each day, to think about who you would be if you had what
you wanted from life. When you are clear about who you will have to be, write it
down, memorize it and then visualize yourself as that successful person every
chance you get.
During each 10 minute segment, use your imagination to
bring all your senses into play. Make sure your visualization seems real to you.
Continue this visualization for thirty days.
The BE DO HAVE Exercise
Daydreaming about what we want is often a waste of time,
because wanting won't get it for you. The only
way you can have every thing you want from life, is to choose to BE the
one who will have it.
Even if you don't know what you want from life, the BE DO
HAVE Exercise will take you step by step through the process of deciding who you
would need to BE in order to have the life style you have always wanted.
