"My problem is in becoming organized and focused"
A Money Problem:
AS wrote:
Hi Darel,
I don't know you would categorize my problem. My problem is becoming organized and focused.
In a way it's related to money problem because I have a hard time finishing something I start.
I would also spend time looking for something because I forgot where I placed it.
You can say I'm a regular pack rat. I have a hard time letting go of things because I might need it in the future.
Hope you can give me a Being solution that will help my situation.
Thanks and God bless.

A BEING Solution:
Thanks for the question AS. I wonder if you realize how many people you will eventually help by having asked that question.
I relate to your problem of being a disorganized pack rat, because that’s me, but I don’t think lack of focus is my problem. In fact, I think my problem is often in being too focused.
My forgetfulness actually comes from being so focused on what I’m doing at the moment, I forget the time and everything else. And I often find myself coming into a room asking myself “What did I come in here for?”
But, AS, I don’t fret about my absentmindedness, because I like myself best when I’m BEING focused, creative and enthusiastic about whatever I’m creating that day.
Sometimes, the dissatisfaction you’re feeling about certain of your personality traits will go away if you allow yourself to see that you actually like yourself the way you are.
Who and what you have in your life is there as a result of whom you are being. Those things you’d like to change are merely evidence of who you have chosen to BE.
To change any of those ways in you would obviously require a determined change in whom you are BEING. So, first ask yourself, AS, what real value you’re getting out of BEING who you are now and then decide whether you’re serious about wanting to change whom you are BEING.
What I want you to know is that any change in who you are BEING is a major project that will take serious attention for anywhere from 21 to 30 days. If you are not really fired up and determined to make the change, it won’t happen.
There’s a part of you (I call it the ego) that is determined to maintain status quo. Your ego’s job in life is to maintain the reality created by your previous BEING choice. (That’s who you are now!)
If you haven’t built up a head of steam powerful enough to sustain you through and past that ego resistance, you’ll be back in the old box before you know it.
So, the next question to ask yourself, AS: “Are you that fired up and determined?”
If you are, here’s what you must do: Make a list of 20 reasons why your life would be much better if you were as organized and focused as you want to be. Once you have the list, prioritize that list and create a powerful vision of yourself living in that new reality.
Once you have created your vision, make a serious commitment to yourself to BE the one in that vision. Then start the transformation process:
For 10 minutes, three times a day, for 30 days, visualize yourself being that organized and focused and reaping the benefits of those new habits. In 30 days or less you will have given your ego a new reality to defend and you will have transformed yourself into that organized and focused person you say you want to be.
Unfortunately, AS, most people need help in making it past that ego resistance. That’s why I created the Online Being Workshop. Everyone in the last two workshops has been transformed during that eight weeks class.
In that workshop you’re given two powerful tools for making it past that resistance. Those who take the workshop come out of it with the powerful feeling of knowing who they are and knowing that they now have the tools and the ability to make their dream a reality.
And, AS, there's a chapter in BEING THE SOLUTION that will show you how to develop the burning desire that would have you following through with every project you start!
